- ExtensBase program controls extensometer on preset transmissions.
- Extensometer transmits movement data to ExtensBase on continuous basis.
- ExtensBase relays data to database.
- ExtensMon program compiles database, graphs data, and checks movement criteria based on warning notification protocol. If warranted, it sends a signal to activate warning devices, and sends warning messages to equipment control office, designated engineer, and other personnel.
- Base station transmits radio signal to activate warning devices -- strobe lights and sirens.
- Equipment Control notifies equipment operators to stop operation in critical area being monitored.
- Engineer reviews movement data with ExtensMon program.
- Engineer calls Equipment Control, discusses situation, and sets interim operational procedures.
